Method and limits
- What we tested: one page, the home page, in a desktop browser 1,280 pixels wide on October 14, 2026, with axe-core 4.13 set to the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 Level A and AA rules.
- What a failed check is: axe-core reported at least one violation of that rule. A place is one element on the page that failed. Total places across all 64 home pages: 1,845.
- What a clean result means: the software found no failures. Automated tests find only some barriers, so these results are not an audit and a clean result does not show a site works for everyone. 15 of the 64 home pages have no link that mentions accessibility.
- Not tested: Baker, Calhoun and Hardee counties, whose sites blocked our automated browser. We did not try to get around the blocks.
- Sites change. A page may look different today. If you see a mistake, email hello@awesomecause.com.
The original report explains how we chose the sites, and what these numbers do and don’t say.
