How often will Awesome Cause update WordPress core, plugins and themes?

Our software scans your website for updates once daily, when it finds an update to be made it will notify us and automatically start the process of backing up the current version of the website and installing the updates. If there is a problem with the install, our software will automatically revert back to the old version and notify us of the issue so we can manually handle it.

How does Awesome Cause keep my site secure?

We scan your website multiple times a day for malware and any sign of file alterations. If something is found we are notified immediately and start to take action.

What if Awesome Cause finds malware on my website?

We handle it so you don't have to. Depending on the severity we may need to take your website offline so it doesn't accidentally infect any visitors but we'll let you know if that is the case. Regardless we let you know what malware was found, explain how we'll be removing it, and provide details on how long we estimate it will take. Keep in mind each case is unique but most are resolved within the same day.

Can you recommend a better plugin than XYZ?

Yep, we get asked this a lot and we understand the frustration that you might have working with some of the plugins on your website. At the beginning of a maintenance contract we'll assess your current plugins and make some recommendations on industry best practices and standards that might be better for you to work with or unnecessary altogether.

How does Awesome Cause make my site run faster?

We implement advanced software to make sure all of your images are optimized for faster loading and implement a caching plugin to deliver optimized html, css, and javascript to the site visitor. We take a common approach to making your site run faster but customize it based on your current hosting provider, DNS, and other factors based on your server's health.

What if my website goes down?

Not to worry, we're monitoring your website's uptime 24/7. If it goes down we'll know about it right away and work on getting it back up with your hosting company. Most cases of a site being down have to do with host maintenance or issues with a plugin update, both of which we're continuously monitoring. There are some hosts though that we do NOT recommend because of their reputation for going down often and without warning. When we start working with you we'll identify if your current host is on our list and if you should instead move to a more reliable one. If that's the case, we'll handle the migration for you.

Can I download a backup of our website?

Of course! This website is yours, not ours. We're just here to make sure it runs smoothly. We'll be giving you access to a complete dashboard that has all the info you need to download your own backups at will from our archive of backups.

What kind of analytics reporting do you offer?

We use Google Analytics to setup an automatic monthly email report of your highest performing pages across your website. This can also include specific campaign information if you'd like.
